Microsoft announced on June 16, 2026 that the Dynamics 365 Sales and Dynamics 365 Customer Service plug-ins for Copilot Cowork are generally available. Copilot Cowork, Microsoft's surface for delegating multi-step work across records, email and meetings, also reached general availability for Microsoft 365 Copilot customers worldwide. Microsoft says the plug-ins run prebuilt prompts on out-of-the-box Dynamics 365 data and need no custom configuration.
The details
- The Sales plug-in covers account, lead, opportunity and competitor research, opportunity health and risk, and drafting follow-up communications.
- Named sales use cases are account and deal preparation, expansion signals, deal-progression guidance and pipeline visibility for managers.
- The Customer Service plug-in covers case triage, knowledge-grounded resolution drafts, escalation handoff and queue visibility for supervisors.
- Microsoft Dataverse is the read, query, create and update layer, and every write-back requires a person to approve, edit or dismiss it.
- Admins deploy and scope the plug-ins in the Microsoft 365 admin center, and each call enforces the user's existing identity and permissions.
- Microsoft refers readers to Microsoft Learn for prerequisites and licensing.
Context
The plug-ins bring Dynamics 365 CRM records into Copilot Cowork, the multi-step work surface inside Microsoft 365 Copilot, with Dataverse handling reads and approved writes. Microsoft says Cowork reaches CRM data only through the plug-ins, and that it should state when data is missing or ambiguous. In October 2026 Microsoft followed with 30 CRM skills for Dynamics 365 and a preview of a Sales Development Agent, extending the agent features available on top of the same CRM data. The June release covered both the sales and the customer service applications at once.
