Microsoft adds 30 CRM skills and previews Sales Development Agent for Dynamics 365

Microsoft announced on October 8, 2026 30 prebuilt CRM skills across Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service and Customer Insights, in a post by Jeff Teper, EVP of Microsoft Apps and Agents. The skills extend Copilot Cowork, Autopilot and Code and are powered by Dynamics 365 MCP servers. Microsoft also moved the Sales Development Agent into public preview. The agent researches prospects, personalizes outreach, manages follow-ups and hands qualified opportunities to sellers. It begins consuming Copilot credits on November 16, 2026.

• The skills are generally available in Cowork, in private preview in Autopilot and available in Code through the Frontier Program.
• Sales skills surface at-risk deals, build account engagement plans and propose CRM record updates for review.
• The Sales Development Agent is managed in Teams, sends email from its own Exchange account and connects to CRM platforms.
• Dynamics 365 CRM in the flow of Teams is in public preview, and a Service Agent in Microsoft 365 is in private preview for select Frontier customers.
• Customer comments come from BNY, Grupo Águia Branca, Adobe and Comcast.

Context

Microsoft first announced the Sales Development Agent at Ignite in November 2025. In our coverage, Microsoft made Dynamics 365 Sales plug-ins for Copilot Cowork generally available in June 2026. The October skills build on a new Copilot experience introduced on September 25, 2026 with Home, Code and Autopilot. The post also lists Dynamics 365 Activate in public preview since August, which analyzes current CRM environments to recommend a migration path. Adobe's Prabhath Yeluri reported "driving meetings with 10+ customers we wouldn't have otherwise reached." Ignite 2026 runs November 17 to 20.
