Pipedrive announced on June 4, 2026 that it is included in the launch of OpenAI's sales plugin for Codex. OpenAI is releasing role-specific Codex plugins that connect Codex to business applications, so teams can use that context for analysis, meeting preparation, reporting and prototyping. Through the sales plugin, Pipedrive customers can bring their CRM data into AI-assisted sales workflows. Pipedrive said it is also widening access to its data and workflows across other AI platforms.
The details
- The Codex sales plugin is one of a set of role-based plugins OpenAI is releasing.
- Pipedrive customers can pull CRM information into Codex tasks such as meeting preparation and reporting.
- Kristjan Elias, senior director of engineering at Pipedrive, is quoted in the release.
- Pipedrive says it is investing in AI features for prospecting, lead management, reporting and sales insights.
- The company says more than 100,000 businesses use Pipedrive, which was founded in 2010.
Context
Pipedrive sells CRM software to small and medium-sized businesses, and the release says it is expanding access to its data across AI platforms and it is also adding AI features inside its own product. Details of the plugin are published on OpenAI's website and in its GitHub repository for role-based plugins. Later in 2026 Pipedrive acquired Outfunnel, its top-rated marketplace app, in August, and launched Nova meeting intelligence across all plans in September. The Codex release did not describe any requirements for using the integration.
