Common Room launched the cr command line interface for its API and expanded its MCP server with write capabilities. Both target teams running AI agents and scripted workflows.

Common Room announced on May 27, 2026 two ways to use its buyer intelligence outside its own interface. The cr CLI is a scriptable, headless interface to the Common Room API that runs from a terminal, a CI/CD pipeline or inside a custom AI agent without a browser. The company also added write capabilities to its MCP server, so AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and Cursor can create and update contacts, log meetings and activities and manage segments, not only read data. Common Room says the same governance and permissions that apply to any user apply to these tools.
The details
- The CLI supports typed filters on objects, create commands for contacts and activities, and table or JSON output.
- An agent-context command emits a machine-readable map of the CLI surface for use in an agent's system prompt.
- Authentication options include environment variable tokens for CI/CD and browser OAuth for interactive use.
- Admins control whether MCP write tools are enabled.
- The CLI is available through Homebrew and npm, and MCP write capabilities were live at announcement.
- Common Room says retrieval uses cursor pagination and data pre-enriched by its DataAgent.
Context
This release builds on Common Room's enterprise MCP connector for Claude from February 2026 and its DataAgent for CRM data hygiene from January. In our later coverage, Common Room connected buyer signals to the Nooks dialer in June, Zoom agreed to acquire the company in July, and in September Common Room outlined revenue OS products under Zoom ownership.
