Qualified extends its Client-side API to PiperX voice and video conversations

Qualified said on August 18, 2026 that its Client-side API now works with PiperX, adding voice call and meeting events and a launcher call that prefills a visitor's first message to the AI SDR agent.

On August 18, 2026, Qualified updated its Client-side API to support PiperX, the version of its Piper AI SDR agent that holds video, voice and text conversations. Existing calls now work with either the legacy messenger or PiperX. The handleMessengerEvents interface gains voice and meeting events that teams can send to analytics tools, and startChat accepts a message argument to prefill the visitor's opening message. Qualified links a full how-to under Client-side API in Qualified University.

The details

  • Live for any organization using PiperX.
  • New events: call requested, call started, call ended, mic muted, mic unmuted, meeting offered or booked.
  • startChat with a message argument sets the visitor's first message.
  • Existing Client-side API code needs no changes for PiperX support.

Context

Qualified made PiperX generally available on March 3, 2026. The API update came two days before its Summer '26 release on August 20, 2026 and alongside custom video avatars for Piper on August 24, 2026. Salesforce completed its acquisition of Qualified on April 1, 2026. Qualified connected Piper to Salesforce Data 360 on August 25, 2026.

Not disclosed

  • Whether the new events count toward any API or usage limits
  • Plans or editions that include PiperX
