Unify brings its outbound agent to Claude and ChatGPT through plugins

Unify plugins let Claude and ChatGPT start a background Unify agent session that finds prospects, enriches contacts and drafts outreach, returning results with a link to the Unify thread.

Unify published a post, last updated October 15, 2026, describing plugins that connect its outbound agent to Claude and ChatGPT, which the company says launched in September 2026. The AI application sends a prompt to a run_agent tool, which starts a background Unify agent session. That session can find prospects, enrich contact details and draft outreach sequences. The model polls for status and retrieves results when the work is done, and results include a link to the matching Unify thread.

The details

  • A polling tool checks often at first and then less often, which the company says allows longer workflows to run.
  • The Unify agent can ask clarifying questions during a run, such as which companies belong in a target market.
  • Bundled skills give the model instructions for running the agent loop, prospecting, enrichment and outreach.
  • Developers connecting their own agent to the Unify MCP server are told to make the bundled skills available to it.
  • Unify says it will evaluate MCP's official Tasks extension as a replacement for its custom polling tools.

Context

The plugins run on the same agent that powers Unify's core product. In our coverage, Unify added a native PostHog integration for product usage data in April 2026 and relaunched in June as a chat agent for outbound sellers with $20 monthly plans, a relaunch the post describes as the foundation for the plugins. The post says the research workflow can take tens of minutes at market scale, which is the stated reason for the background session design. It notes that "Giving a model access to a tool is only part of the job."
