Backstory adds MCP record search and fiscal year forecasting
Backstory's October 2026 release adds MCP tools to search and fetch up to 1,000 records, a fiscal year forecast view and a guided forecast setup.

What we are seeing
Backstory's help center lists an October 2026 product release. It adds Preview Records and Fetch Records MCP tools that let users search accounts and opportunities from AI clients such as Claude and ChatGPT and retrieve up to 1,000 records. Forecasting gains a fiscal year view with quarterly rows and annual totals, and a guided setup wizard that supports Salesforce objects other than Opportunity. The Weekly Forecast Trends email introduced in August is now available to all Backstory Forecasting customers. Admins can also limit who creates Sheets in the Backstory app. The page gives the month only, without a specific day.
