Backstory, the company formerly known as People.ai, announced a Model Context Protocol integration for its SalesAI Platform on February 18, 2026. The company says that through its Answer Platform, revenue teams can connect AI agents including Claude, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and custom agents to its data layer. Backstory says that layer combines structured CRM fields such as opportunity stage, close date and account value with captured emails, meetings, chats, LinkedIn interactions and call transcripts. Patented matching technology associates that activity with accounts, opportunities, contacts and leads, while NLP-based filtering removes sensitive content. The company says the Answer Platform is available now to all Backstory customers.
