Mutiny adds a desktop recorder for taking meeting notes

Mutiny's changelog describes a desktop recorder and Notetaker app that captures calls, lists upcoming meetings and keeps local audio if the connection drops.

Mutiny's changelog documents a series of updates to its desktop recorder, also called Mutiny Notetaker, through October 2026. On October 13, Mutiny added a desktop window where users can browse upcoming and past meetings and open a meeting's notes on the web, plus a draggable pill that shows recording state and a waveform above other windows. The same day, the recorder was changed to wait for users to start recording with Take notes instead of automatically recording upcoming meetings. On October 22, Mutiny added a Join and take notes option that opens the meeting link and starts notes after it detects the user joined.

The details

  • October 12 entries: recordings stay in one capture when users leave and rejoin a Zoom call, and local audio uploads resume after a dropped connection or app restart.
  • October 8: users who can read an account can read its recorder meetings' structured transcripts and summaries, including linked people.
  • October 5: a single auto-record preference applies across the web app and desktop recorder, and upcoming meetings show a Will be auto recorded label.
  • October 15: users can send recorder diagnostics with a description through one support window.
  • The Notetaker window follows the Mac light or dark appearance setting.

Context

This is the first Mutiny meeting-capture story in our coverage. It follows Mutiny's April 2026 relaunch as an agent-first product, the MCP server launched later in April, the single account agent released in June and analytics changes in July. Recorded meetings feed account pages, People profiles and meeting prep and follow-up actions in the same changelog.

Not disclosed

  • Pricing or which Mutiny plans include the recorder
