Mutiny Notetaker can join a meeting and start notes from the desktop app

Mutiny's changelog says the Mutiny Notetaker desktop window now offers a "Join & take notes" option that opens an upcoming meeting's link and starts notes once it detects the user has joined.

On October 22, 2026, Mutiny listed a new feature for its Mutiny Notetaker desktop app. In the desktop window, users can choose "Join & take notes" on an upcoming meeting once its join window opens. Mutiny then opens the meeting link and begins taking notes after it detects that the user joined. The change was listed alongside several smaller desktop app updates dated October 21 and October 22.

The details

  • "Join & take notes" appears on an upcoming meeting in the Mutiny Notetaker desktop window when the meeting's join window opens.
  • Mutiny opens the meeting link and starts notes after it detects that the user joined.
  • The "Mutiny can't record right now" card now includes "Quit and reopen," which waits for a saving recording to finish before quitting.
  • In the menu-bar menu, "Stop" appears first during a recording, and meeting-linked "Take notes" actions are grouped apart from in-person notes.
  • The main window follows the Mac's light or dark appearance setting, while the recording bar stays dark.

Context

Mutiny added a desktop recorder for taking meeting notes on October 13, 2026, and the October 22 entries extend that desktop app. Earlier in 2026, the company relaunched as an agent-first product for GTM teams in April and launched an AI agent in June that it says takes an account from first touch to close.

Not disclosed

  • Which meeting platforms "Join & take notes" supports.
  • Whether the desktop app is available on operating systems other than macOS.
  • Which plans include Mutiny Notetaker.
