Lusha adds waterfall enrichment that falls back to third-party providers

Lusha API version 2.6.0 added a waterfall reveal option to Enrich Contacts, later extended to all paid plans and made asynchronous.

Lusha's API changelog version 2.6.0, dated July 27, 2026, added a waterfall reveal to the Enrich Contacts endpoint. When Lusha has no match for a field, the request falls through to the customer's enabled third-party providers. Waterfall runs automatically once Data Waterfall is enabled in account settings, and a single call can opt out. Lusha manages the provider order, which customers cannot configure. The same release removed the Tables Add Column endpoint.

The details

  • A field resolved through the waterfall is charged at that provider's own rate, which Lusha says can be higher than a Lusha-only reveal.
  • Version 2.16.0 on September 23 made Data Waterfall available on all paid plans, excluding Free.
  • Version 2.17.0 on October 5 made slower waterfall results asynchronous, with a job polling endpoint that is free to call.
  • Each email and phone now carries a dataSource field showing Lusha or a provider ID, and Wiza is the only provider named, as an example.
  • Version 2.17.0 also added status values for partial results and out-of-credit cases and a list of unresolved data points.

Context

The waterfall release followed Lusha's Tables API in version 2.5.0 on July 21, which added 12 endpoints per entity type for contact and company tables. Lusha continued adding API functions after the waterfall work, with Buying Group, Signal Score and Conversations APIs in September and ICP Fit Score, intent topic and Recommendations APIs in October. Enrichment waterfalls that query several data vendors in sequence are also offered by Clay and Unify, according to their own announcements.
