Informa TechTarget launched the B2B AI Authority Index on August 11, 2026. The tool is a 24-question self-assessment that estimates how visible and influential a brand is when B2B buyers research through AI systems. Scores are based on the company's S.I.G.N.A.L. framework and place a brand in one of four archetypes: The Newcomer, The Contributor, The Referenced or The Authority. The index and a companion white paper are available in the Resources section of the company's website.
The details
- The S.I.G.N.A.L. framework covers six capabilities, though the release labels them inconsistently, listing Insight and Authority in one place and Intelligence and Amplification in another.
- The companion white paper is titled Closing the Gap Between Brand and AI Authority.
- A webinar on the index was scheduled for August 20, 2026 at 12:00pm EDT.
- The release lists earlier 2026 tools from the company: the AI Visibility Audit and the GEO Topic Planner.
- Informa TechTarget says it operates more than 220 technology-specific digital properties with about 58 million permissioned first-party audience members.
Context
The index adds to a set of AI visibility tools Informa TechTarget released in 2026, after the AI Visibility Audit and the GEO Topic Planner. The company's later announcements moved toward its intent data business: in September it launched an AI-driven Buyer Intelligence product with person-level intent and an MCP server for that data, and in October it said Buyer Intelligence would be integrated into Demandbase by the first quarter of 2027.
