HubSpot makes its remote MCP server generally available with write access
HubSpot's remote MCP server left beta on April 13, 2026. The company says MCP-compatible AI tools can now read and write CRM records and activities and read marketing content, using existing HubSpot permissions.
On April 13, 2026, HubSpot moved its remote MCP server from beta to general availability. The server is hosted by HubSpot at mcp.hubspot.com and lets any MCP-compatible AI tool connect to a HubSpot account. HubSpot says all actions respect existing user permissions. Setup involves creating an MCP auth app in the HubSpot account, then connecting an OAuth-capable MCP client with that app's credentials. Existing installations may need to be reconnected to pick up new object types.
The details
- Generally available to all HubSpot accounts as of April 13, 2026.
- Authentication: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, required for all connections.
- Writable: contacts, companies, deals, tickets, line items, products, calls, meetings, notes, tasks and emails.
- Read-only examples include quotes, invoices, orders, subscriptions, segments, campaigns and site content.
- Activity objects are blocked through the server when sensitive data is turned on.
- The server is separate from HubSpot's developer MCP server for building apps and CMS content.
Context
The release came the day before HubSpot's Spring 2026 Spotlight, which GTM Tech News covered on April 14, 2026. HubSpot had already added write access to its Claude and ChatGPT connectors. At Fall Spotlight in September 2026 the company expanded the MCP server again with custom objects, configuration tools and an app component for HubSpot Agents.
