On July 28, 2026, Clay announced three updates to total addressable market sourcing: Search, Reporting in Audiences and Lookalikes. Upgraded Search, in open beta, combines people, company and job data in one natural language query and returns lists already filtered on those attributes; saved searches can become Audiences that refresh as new records match. Reporting in Audiences traces sourced lists to pipeline and revenue. Lookalikes takes a list of up to 15,000 companies and finds similar accounts and contacts. Clay says the new search is faster and more credit efficient, citing an example that previously cost about 16 million credits and now costs 98% fewer credits.
The details
- Search can be run in the Clay UI or from AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT through Clay's API, CLI and Agent Skill, and supports Query Mode, a SQL-like query language.
- Sending a search to Audiences removes the 50,000-row table limit, allowing lists in the millions of records.
- Reporting shows pipeline and revenue from sourced accounts, signal trends such as job changes and website intent, and enrichment fill rates by CRM field.
- Lookalikes can run as a recurring search and groups results by category such as industry.
- Search and Lookalikes are available on all Clay plans; Reporting is available on enterprise and all modern self-serve plans.
- Search is opt-in during open beta through the Find Leads settings.

These updates came at the start of a busy stretch for Clay in our coverage. In August it added Vibe, Bing and Reddit as Clay Ads destinations, opened a Workflows beta for running plays on live audiences and opened a beta for Account Agents.
