Clay opens Workflows beta for running plays on live audiences

Workflows routes each record in an Audiences segment through branching, Python and Claygent steps, triggered by membership, schedules or webhooks, at no added cost on Launch, Growth and Enterprise.

Clay opened Workflows in beta to all customers on August 11, 2026. Workflows is an orchestration layer that starts from a live Audiences segment, routes each record through defined logic and writes results back. Users can build workflows from the Clay CLI, with the Sculptor in-product assistant from a natural-language prompt, or on a visual canvas. Clay says Workflows is included at no added cost on Enterprise, Growth and Launch plans, and on legacy plans through the end of 2026.

The details

  • Code nodes run Python for transforms, scoring, routing and formatting.
  • Branching can follow field rules, a Python expression or a Claygent's judgment.
  • Runs can be triggered by audience membership, a schedule, a webhook, cron or a manual start.
  • Each record has a trace of its path and a cost breakdown by step, with no cap on steps or rows.
  • Search-based sourcing and native waterfall enrichment are not yet supported, and Clay says they will arrive before general availability.
  • One inbound routing customer reports first touch in under five minutes and a 50% lift in sales-qualified leads, according to Clay.

Context

Workflows builds on Audiences, the data layer Clay launched on June 23, 2026, and on Clay MCP, which reached general availability on July 14. A week before Workflows, Clay added Vibe, Bing and Reddit as Clay Ads destinations. In September the company raised a $115M Series D at a $7.1B valuation and made its Sequencer cold email product generally available, and at its Sculpt 2026 event in October it previewed agent-led building alongside Workflows and an Inbound SDR Agent. Tables remain supported alongside Workflows.
