On December 17, 2025, Clay announced an app that makes its research stack, including contact databases, enrichment providers and AI research agents, available inside ChatGPT. The company says sellers can find contacts, review account context and draft next steps in a single ChatGPT conversation by mentioning Clay in a prompt. Users can iterate on searches, refine criteria and export contacts from the conversation. Clay says it is among the first apps built for business workflows inside ChatGPT. At launch, the app covers data for emails, technology stacks, headcount growth, fundraising and website traffic. The app is live and is enabled through the ChatGPT app directory.
The details
- Data available at launch: emails, technology stacks, headcount growth, fundraising and website traffic.
- Users connect through the ChatGPT app directory, or an admin enables the app.
- Existing Clay users are connected directly; new users get an account created during setup.
- New users receive 500 Clay credits to try the app inside ChatGPT.
- Clay says a later phase will bring first-party data from CRMs, data warehouses and call recordings into ChatGPT, with Clay acting as a permissioned bridge.
