RainFocus launches MCP Profiles to connect AI agents to live event data

RainFocus released MCP Profiles, part of its Nexus agent system, giving AI clients scoped read and write access to event data through OAuth. The company says it is available now.

RainFocus announced MCP Profiles on July 8, 2026 as part of RainFocus Nexus, its set of AI agents for event marketing operations. MCP Profiles lets AI clients read live event data, such as session capacity and check-in counts, and make changes in natural language, such as closing registration for a sold-out track or updating speaker details. Planners turn tool access on or off event by event. RainFocus describes it as the first native MCP with an enterprise-grade OAuth security layer.

The details

  • Every MCP action is tied to an administrator's identity, with per-user authentication, role-based access control and full audit logging.
  • The AI client receives a short-lived, scoped access token and a refresh token through OAuth.
  • Setup involves creating a profile in the Integration Suite, enabling selected tools, copying the server URL and authenticating the AI client.
  • Data-completeness checks cover attendee, speaker and exhibitor profiles and session records.
  • Nexus also includes a Configuration Agent for workflow setup and a Concierge Agent for attendee guidance.

Context

MCP Profiles was the first of three RainFocus announcements in July 2026, followed by Adobe Experience Manager connectors on July 14 and the Sales Module on July 30. In June the company upgraded Base Webinar to unify virtual and in-person attendee data. The release quotes Brent Turner of Opus Agency, who says his team uses RainFocus data with large language models to build dashboards and reports. Cvent announced CventIQ Skills for agent-run event workflows at its CONNECT conference six days later.
