What we are seeing
Microsoft described the capability in a September 10 post. Users describe the outcome, users, data and actions they want, and agentic coding generates a full-stack app that can be refined in conversation and inspected in code. Apps read and write business data through connectors and Work IQ, use Git-backed source control and deployment stages, and apply Microsoft Entra identity and organizational data policies by default. IT administrators get an inventory of published apps and governance controls in the Microsoft 365 admin center. The /app skill in Cowork is available through the Frontier program, and app building in Copilot Studio entered public preview. Building and running apps uses Copilot Credits.
