What we are seeing
Microsoft announced on October 29 more than 25 finance skills and partner plugins across Copilot, building on finance skills in Excel introduced in June. Capabilities cover reconciliation, journal entries, variance reporting, audit and FP&A, with an optional audit trail of changes in Excel. Capital Markets and Finance plugins in Cowork support tasks such as DCF modeling, close packages and audit evidence. A Dynamics 365 ERP plugin and Fabric IQ bring governed business data into Copilot, and partner plugins include Intuit QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books and Mercury. Finance skills in Excel and the Cowork plugins are generally available, accounting capabilities are in the Frontier program, and pricing is not stated.
