G2 announced on May 21, 2026 that it has added verified SaaS spend and contract data to its Data Solutions portfolio, now generally available. The company says the dataset represents more than $25 billion in total annual SaaS spend across more than 20 large enterprise vendors and breaks down transactions, contract structures and spend flows. G2 describes three uses: tracking spend trends across a vendor's customer base for signals ahead of earnings, pricing and discount benchmarks from contract structures, and spend-based market share across categories and vendors. The data is paired with G2's existing market context across categories, vendors and segments.
The details
- Target users named are investors, hedge funds, venture capital and private equity firms, consultants and software vendors.
- Discount benchmarks can be examined by segment and over time, according to G2.
- The data is available through Data Solutions, with inquiries routed to the G2 Data Solutions team.
- The announcement was written by Claire McCarthy, who leads G2's Data Solutions team.
Context
This release came after G2's March 2026 launch of an MCP server, LinkedIn reviewer verification and Competitive Pulse. In our later coverage, G2 launched Intent Studio in beta in June, brought market data to ChatGPT in September, launched G2 Audiences for paid media in September, and in October made reviews available inside Clay and became a Snowflake data partner. The spend dataset is aimed at investors and analysts, while most of those releases target vendor marketing and sales teams.
