Bombora adds 3,768 topics to Company Surge in its Quay taxonomy release

Bombora's Quay taxonomy release added 3,768 intent topics, bringing the listed Company Surge total to 25,378.

Bombora's Customer Resource Center lists the Quay taxonomy release in September 2026, with a most recent release date of September 28. Quay adds 3,768 topics to the Company Surge intent taxonomy and lists a new total of 25,378 topics. It is the largest addition in Bombora's published release history. The new topics are listed in a separate tab of a downloadable taxonomy file, and the page does not describe their subject mix.

The details

  • The previous release, Penguin in June 2026, added 1,500 topics for a total of 21,632.
  • Oyster in February 2026 added 912 topics, and Nemo in October 2025 added 1,051.
  • Unlike many earlier releases, Quay's additions are not split into company names and concepts.
  • Penguin's total plus Quay's additions equals 25,400, which is 22 more than the listed total, and the page does not explain the difference.
  • The next topic submission deadline is November 12, 2026, and the next release is estimated for February 2027.

Context

Bombora names each taxonomy release and publishes added and total topic counts. The listed history runs from Coastline in July 2022, with 614 topics added and 11,081 in total, through Quay. Additions per release ranged from 510 to 1,066 between 2022 and 2025 before Penguin and Quay. Quay more than doubles the previous record. In our coverage, G2 uses Bombora's activation API to move G2 Buyer Intent audiences into DSPs, announced in September 2026.
