Storylane introduced a free Viewer role on Starter and above that can browse demos and Hubs and leave comments. Analytics can now be filtered by link creator.

Storylane's June 26, 2026 changelog entry added a Viewer role for team members who need visibility into demos and Hubs without creation rights. Viewers can browse demos and Hubs in read-only mode and leave comments on demos and their individual steps, but cannot create, edit, share or access analytics, visitors, deals or settings. Storylane states that the Viewer is a free seat with no additional cost, available on Starter plans and above. The same release added Video to demo, which turns an uploaded product video into an interactive demo with guided steps and voiceover, and a filter across analytics views for the team member who created a demo or demo link.

The details

  • Admins assign the Viewer role when inviting a member or change it under Settings, Team.
  • Viewer seats are free and available on Starter and higher plans.
  • Video to demo is enabled on request through a customer success manager and uses credits, with per-plan limits still being finalized at publication.
  • The link creator filter applies to Analytics, Leads, Accounts, Sessions and single-demo analytics views.
  • The entry summarizes releases from the prior two weeks.

Context

This release came a month after Storylane added chat, voice and video modes to its RepX sales agent on May 26, 2026. It was followed in July by AI editing for HTML demos and video-to-demo conversion, and in August by an MCP server, multi-language demos and self-serve API keys and MCP setup. In October Storylane added Ask AI for questions about demo analytics.

Not disclosed

  • Any limit on the number of Viewer seats
  • Credit costs for Video to demo
  • Whether Viewers can access Hubs analytics in later releases
