Livestorm rolls out redesigned Room and chat across all plans

Livestorm released the New Room Experience, a redesign of its live event Room and chat, in a post dated October 20, 2026. The company says it is included on every plan at no extra cost and requires no setup. Rollout began October 20 on the Free, Pro and Premium plans, and Business and Enterprise plans move over starting October 27. Events switch to the new Room automatically. The update covers viewer controls, host tools, chat, the lobby and the mobile layout.

The details

• Viewers get emoji reactions and an Ask question button under the stage, and can adjust caption text size, colors, background and font.
• Organizers, moderators and speakers keep full stage controls, and hosts get a people panel listing everyone waiting to speak.
• Chat adds replies, reactions, mentions, edits, deletions, link previews and a jump to the latest messages.
• Moderators can open a participant's profile and messages, delete messages and remove participants.
• Chat can be exported as Excel, CSV or ODS files for a session or a whole event, and messages are available through the public API.

Context

The redesign follows two Livestorm items in our coverage. In June 2026 Livestorm acquired AI clipping company Qlip and announced AI Studio, and in August it was listed as a verified connector in Claude's directory. The new Room changes the core live experience on all tiers, while those earlier moves concerned post-event content and AI access. Livestorm suggests running a practice event with speakers before a major event, which it says takes about two minutes. Livestorm says the chat is built for audiences of "hundreds of people."
