Livestorm CEO Gilles Bertaux announced on June 2, 2026, the company's 10-year anniversary, that Livestorm has acquired Qlip, a Paris-based AI video clipping company. Bertaux wrote that Livestorm bought Qlip for its team and technology and did not acquire it for customers or revenue. Livestorm also announced AI Studio, an add-on that turns webinar replays into short, ready-to-publish clips, with a waitlist opening the same day and a private beta planned for July 2026.

The details

  • Qlip built its own video AI engine trained to identify moments worth sharing, according to the post.
  • Former Qlip CTO Pamela Carvallo, who holds a PhD in machine learning, becomes Livestorm's head of AI.
  • Qlip's computer vision lead also joins Livestorm, and Qlip CEO and co-founder Svend Court-Payen joins Bertaux at the keynote.
  • Livestorm says tens of thousands of organizations run webinars on its platform every month.
  • The post cites research in which 50% of GTM teams say operational issues block content repurposing.
  • Livestorm describes a longer-term plan for a webinar production companion covering work before, during and after events.

Context

The Qlip deal is Livestorm's first acquisition. It adds clipping technology to a webinar platform that was later listed as a verified connector in Claude's directory in August 2026 and rolled out a redesigned Room and chat across all plans in October 2026. Bertaux framed the move as part of a view that AI should be built around the webinar format. Other event platforms have added clip and content repurposing tools, and Goldcast, part of Cvent since December 2025, sells a Content Lab product and later applied brand kit styling to AI-generated clips automatically in September 2026.
