Gong release notes say its MCP client and server are coming soon

Gong's May 2026 technical release notes say Gong's MCP client and server, for connecting AI agents to Gong and Gong to external MCP servers, are coming soon. The notes also add a mobile call recording permission.

The May 2026 section of Gong's technical release notes previews two MCP components. An MCP server would let external AI agents connect to Gong, and an MCP client would let Gong connect to external MCP servers. The notes describe both as coming soon. Other May items split mobile call recording into its own permission and add multi-provider consent profiles for Google Calendar users. In September 2026 the notes added a permission controlling who can connect external AI tools such as ChatGPT to Gong through MCP.

The details

  • May 2026: Gong MCP client and server listed as coming soon.
  • A Record calls on mobile permission was split out from Manually schedule and upload calls.
  • Profiles with the upload permission received the mobile permission automatically.
  • Google Calendar users can create consent profiles with multiple web providers.
  • September 2026: a Connect via MCP permission, enabled by default for existing profiles, controls who can connect external AI tools to Gong.

Context

Gong launched Mission Big Dipper with Revenue Harness and Custom Agents on June 24, 2026, and became available in Microsoft Marketplace on July 1, 2026, both covered by GTM Tech News. The May release notes show MCP connectivity being prepared ahead of those announcements. In September 2026 Gong announced Gong Enrich and previewed Gong Activate always-on agents.

Not disclosed

  • A general availability date for the MCP client and server
  • Which Gong data the MCP server exposes
  • Pricing or credit consumption for MCP access
