Gong adds credit controls and OAuth secret rotation, and will require trusted IPs

Gong's September 2026 release notes add tools to monitor and distribute Gong credits, new AI Data Extractor and MCP permissions, and OAuth secret rotation. A planned October 2026 change requires trusted IP addresses for OAuth integrations.

Gong's release notes page lists September 2026 changes that may require admin action, plus a planned change. The credits page now shows consumption by feature over time and lets admins split the credit pool among workspaces. Permissions were added for AI Data Extractor management and for MCP connections. OAuth client secrets can be rotated with an overlap window. The planned change, announced in September 2026 with an October 2026 release date, requires trusted IP addresses for OAuth integrations, and Gong links to setup instructions.

The details

  • Credit consumption can be viewed by feature over time.
  • Credit pools can be distributed across workspaces; disabled by default.
  • Gong imports the Salesforce AccountTeamMember object; integration user permissions need updating.
  • New Manage AI Data Extractor settings permission, enabled where Manage general business settings is checked.
  • New Connect via MCP permission, enabled by default for existing profiles.
  • OAuth client secret rotation supports a 0 to 168 hour grace period; trusted IPs become required for OAuth integrations in October 2026.

GTM Tech News covered Gong's September 30, 2026 announcements of Gong Enrich in Mission Callisto and the Gong Activate always-on agents preview at Celebrate '26. The September release notes cover the administrative side of the same period, including credit management and MCP permissions. Gong's May 2026 notes had listed its MCP client and server as coming soon.
