What we are seeing
DeepSeek's API change log for August 13 records the general availability of DeepSeek-V4-Pro under the model name deepseek-v4-pro, which the company says has stronger agent capabilities. The update added Responses API support adapted for Codex and three thinking effort levels: low, high and max. DeepSeek also introduced peak and off-peak pricing, with off-peak rates at half of peak rates starting at 16:00 UTC on August 16, 2026. The change log does not name enterprise plans or business customers. On August 21 DeepSeek added an experimental multimodal vision model, later retired in favor of V4.1 Flash.
