Cohere releases Embed 5 embedding models in Pro and Fast tiers
Cohere released Embed 5 Pro and Embed 5 Fast, embedding models for text, images and combined inputs across more than 100 languages. Text pricing is $0.12 per million tokens for Pro and $0.08 for Fast.

What we are seeing
Cohere announced Embed 5 on September 30 as a new family of embedding models for enterprise search, retrieval-augmented generation and agents. Embed 5 Pro targets retrieval quality on large archives such as financial filings, legal records and product catalogs, while Embed 5 Fast targets interactive search and high-volume retrieval. Both handle text, images and fused inputs in more than 100 languages with a 128,000 token context window, and share one embedding space so teams can index with Pro and query with Fast. The models are generally available on the Cohere API and Model Vault, Microsoft Foundry, Amazon SageMaker and North. Image pricing is $0.40 per million tokens.
