Cohere releases Rerank 5 for enterprise retrieval and agents
Cohere released Rerank 5 in Pro and Fast tiers with Context Focus, which returns scored passages, and calibrated relevance scores. Pricing is $0.05 per million tokens for Pro and $0.02 for Fast.

What we are seeing
Cohere announced Rerank 5 on October 21 for enterprise teams building retrieval-augmented generation, search and AI agents. The Pro tier targets quality and the Fast tier targets latency and cost. An optional Context Focus feature returns scored text spans within each document so only the most relevant passages go to the language model, and Cohere says its relevance scores are calibrated to reflect the probability a document is useful. Rerank 5 is generally available through the Cohere API, Model Vault, Microsoft Foundry, Amazon SageMaker and North, with VPC and on-premises options through sales. It follows the Embed 5 embedding models released on September 30.
