Anthropic merges chat and Cowork into one Claude experience for Enterprise
Anthropic made its combined chat and Cowork experience generally available for Claude Enterprise. Tasks that need code or files continue in a managed cloud environment and keep running after users close their laptops.

What we are seeing
Anthropic said on October 23 that chat and Cowork are now one Claude experience on web, desktop and mobile for Enterprise plans, following a September launch for Pro and Max. Conversations start as chats, and when work needs code or files Claude continues in an isolated cloud machine and returns the finished document, analysis or deck. Projects, connectors, skills and plugins carry over. Admins manage the rollout in Organization settings, and network egress is off by default for Enterprise. Pricing stays usage based, and admins get efficient mode, model entitlements, spend limits and pooled budgets. Zero data retention, HIPAA and customer-managed key setups stay on current configurations.
