What we are seeing
Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 on September 22 and says it performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 on most work while costing 40 percent less to run than Opus 5. API pricing is $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens, with a fast mode at double those rates. It is available as claude-opus-5-5 on the Claude Platform and through Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, including with zero data retention. Usage limits rose for Pro, Max, Team and seat-based Enterprise plans. Enterprise safeguards include a classifier that screens agent actions and stronger prompt injection defenses, according to the company.
